Jie Fang Daily Headquarters
SHANGHAI, CHINA Jie Fang Daily News and Media Group (JFD), a leading Chinese newspaper in Shanghai's Pushee District, needed a facility to accommodate its fast-growing East China Division – one that reflected its reputation as an innovative leader. Bounded by three busy streets, KMD created the Jie Fang Tower, a 187,000 SF, 19-story skyscraper that rises above the city with a curved, aerodynamic form. Floor plates aligned with wind direction encourage wind flow across the building and facilitate natural ventilation. The translucent appearance of the building is a testimony to the overall feeling of progress and growth that now energizes Shanghai.
