SEATTLE, WASHINGTON KODA is a high-rise community designed by kmd for Seattle’s Nihonmachi (Japantown) neighborhood, the gateway to the historic Chinatown-International District. The project has earned the support of the International Special Review District (ISRD), a panel of community stakeholders that regulate design and development within the Chinatown-International District (CID). This unique oversight is established to preserve the CID’s unique Asian American character and encourage the rehabilitation of areas for housing and pedestrian-oriented businesses.
Residences range from studios to 1 and 2-bedroom units. Building amenities include a full-service concierge and co-working lounge; a seventh-floor wellness center with yoga and fitness studio; a Zen garden and library with conference room; dog run + wash station; and the KODA Club Sky Lounge on the 17th floor with a dining room, exhibition kitchen, fireside viewing lounge, and rooftop terrace offering expansive views of neighborhood landmarks, Seattle skyline, Elliott Bay, Mount Rainier and the Olympic Mountains.
