University of Washington Pacific Tower Renovation

SEATTLE, WASHINGTON  The University of Washington Medical Center (UWMC) is a 450-bed medical center located on the campus of the University of Washington, which serves over 15,000 hospitalized patients and provides 300,000 clinic visits annually. The project involved the interior renovation of approximately 70,000 SF of the UWMC Pacific Tower. Areas that were renovated include the Rehabilitation Medicine Physical Occupational Therapy and outpatient Neurosciences Center, a Gene Therapy Core Lab, remodeling of the Clinical Research Center, and expansion of Obstetrics and Labor Delivery Services. The building remained occupied and functioning, which required detailed coordination between phases of construction and the commissioning of the new mechanical and electrical services.
